EREM KHALFAN, OCT
Director of Education
I consider myself a life-long learner. With a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in Psychology and a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree from Ryerson University in Fashion Marketing, I set off in an exciting career that had me travelling across the globe as a Marketing and Communications professional in the fashion industry. After starting a family, I found myself reflecting on my deeper purpose in this world. The opportunities that a strong education can provide has been monumental in my belief system. I decided to step away from my career and obtain a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto. Now, as an educator, my teaching philosophy encompasses preparing students for their futures as global citizens. As an educator, we hold insurmountable power to influence young minds. Given this power, it is my responsibility to assure each student that they have a right to share their voice. This program was developed to inspire students to develop their voice through building an expansive vocabulary, developing ease in comprehending reading through ongoing practice, gaining structure of written language in various forms, developing oral confidence in their public speaking skills and exposing them to media literacy to complement and enhance their overall learning of Language. Welcome to Apostrophe Kids.
